Description
English: Commemorative plaque to Mr. Ferenc Fejtő (1909-2008) Hungarian-born French journalist and political scientist, specializing in Eastern Europe. It is affixed to the house where he was born. Author of the relief and the graphic is Mr. Ádám Krisztián. It was unveiled on August 30, 2009. Quote in Hungarian: “I am a citizen, because I like my enemies a little, I prefer the debate to the doctrine, and I would feel myself quite well only in an intellectual order that would provide legally the freedom to doubt.” (Nagykanizsa, Csengery Avenue Nr 22).
Français : Plaque commémorative à M François Fejtő (1909-2008) journaliste et politologue français d'origine hongroise, spécialiste de l'Europe de l'Est. Elle fut apposée sur le mur de sa maison natale. L’auteur du relief et du dessin est M. Ádám Krisztián. Elle fut inaugurée le 30 août 2009. Citation en hongrois : « Je suis un citoyen car j'aime un peut mes ennemies, je préfère le débat à la doctrine, et je ne pourrais me sentir tout à fait bien que dans un ordre intellectuel qui assurerait la liberté de doute par la loi » (22, avenue Csengery, Nagykanizsa).
Magyar: Fejtő Ferenc (1909-2008) magyar származású francia újságíró, politológus, kelet-európai szakértő emléktáblája szülőházán. A relief és a grafika Péter Vladimir valamint Ádám Krisztián ötvös munkája. Felavatva: 2009. augusztus 30-án. Idézet: „Polgár vagyok, mert kissé szeretem ellenségeimet, többre becsülöm a vitát a tannál, s csak olyan szellemi rendben érezném magamat egészen jól, amely a kételkedés szabadságát törvényesen biztosítaná.” (Nagykanizsa, Csengery út 22.)
